Trim your double chin — without surgery!
We’re excited to announce our newest product from Allergan (the company that brought us BotoxTM)! FDA-approved KybellaTM is your fat-busting, non-surgical answer to a double chin, and we’re thrilled to offer it to you. This is a great treatment for men and women!
Dr. Gwyn administers KybellaTM with a series of small injections into the fat tissue in the submental area under your chin. The active ingredient in KybellaTM is deoxycholic acid, which your body produces naturally to absorb fat. When injected directly into submental fat, the medication destroys the fat cells, and leaves all your other cells healthy and intact. The recommended treatment with KybellaTM occurs in two appointments; six weeks apart. The number of treatments will depend on the amount of submental fullness.

This non-surgical procedure is for the face, neck and décolletage. It stimulates the body’s own natural healing process to lift and tighten the skin over time. The use of FDA-cleared micro-focused ultrasound technology enables us to see and then treat the deepest support layers of the skin. This approach allows for the same results typically addressed in cosmetic surgery without cutting or disrupting the surface of the skin.
With just one Ultherapy treatment at Rejuvenate Rx the lifting process is initiated. The effect however, will build gradually over the course of two to three months as new, stronger collagen is created. Further improvements can even appear up to twelve months following a single Ultherapy procedure as the collagen-building process continues. Stop by our office in Wandermere West or call us at (509)290-6149 to learn more about Ulthera in Spokane.
Wrinkles and age spots aren’t the only problems as we age. There is another large part of the aging equation: Volume loss. Volume loss in the cheeks causes our faces to flatten which causes the skin on our faces to migrate lower and look saggy.
Enter VolumaTM from Allergan. VolumaTM is the first and only FDA approved filler to add volume to the cheek area, mainly on the cheek bone. VolumaTM gives you back lifted, youthful, cute cheeks for up to 2 years. There is very little, if any recovery time and your results are instant.

As we get older, hair starts to grow in all sorts of places that one could consider unsightly. Unfortunately, this hair can also be difficult to remove. Nose hair is a very common area of unwanted extra hair growth. This can be improved by waxing the hair instead of using alternative methods. Although you have other ways of removing nose hair, waxing truly makes the most sense.
Nose-hair trimmer. This will give you quick results but you will be left with stubble and the hair will begin to grow back almost immediately.
Scissors: With this option you are again left with stubble and the hair grows back quickly as well. Accidental cuts are common.
Hair removal creams: Not recommended for the nose due to a high probability of chemical burns in the nostril and respiratory side effects.
Tweezers: Ouch! This will take a long time if you are removing a large amount of hair. It will also be painful as you are pulling hairs out one at a time or a few at a time at best.
Electrolysis: This involves a needle that penetrates the skin and is placed next to the hair follicle. It then sends an electric current to destroy the root and the dead hair must then be tweezed. The needle must be inserted into every single hair follicle which is hard to do with a small area such as the nose. Prepare for hours of pain.
Waxing: This procedure literally takes about a minute per nostril. You get long-lasting results because the hair is removed in its entirety. A new hair must grow back in its place which will take weeks. Our esthetician has great technique for this procedure—don’t watch internet videos, she uses a very different technique which we would be happy to explain to you on the phone or in person.
Instead of incorporating a hair removal method that requires everyday management, choose waxing and get back living life without worrying about those unattractive nose hairs. Kim Jarrell our licensed esthetician at Rejuvenate Rx is well-known for her gentle touch and expertise in waxing. Make an appointment for services or complimentary consultation at (509)290-6149.
Just as our approach to skin rejuvenation is multifaceted; at Rejuvenate Rx we approach acne care from several different directions.
Home skincare combined with prescription care is a good foundation, however in my opinion all individuals with acne can benefit from office procedures.
Chemical peels, cryotherapy and other acne procedures are extremely helpful in controlling and clearing acne. They help to clear pores, increase cellular turnover and speed resolution of stubborn acne lesions.
Good to know as well: There are quick fixes even for problematic acne lesions the day before a big event.
Combined with the proper skincare program, corrective procedures and professional maintenance have proven to be great strategies to get your skin clear and keep you clear for the long run.

Get your skin glowing for a big event. Kim Jarrell, our esthetician at Rejuvenate Rx has some ideas on how to put your best face forward on your special day.
A three-month head start is ideal, however there is a lot that you can do even days before your event.
A series of 4-6 corrective peels every 2 weeks will even out your complexion, correct acne scars and allow your skin to build collagen underneath the surface for a smoother appearance.
Get started on waxing your facial hair every four weeks and plan for facial and body waxing three days prior to the event.
Get your hair and makeup consultations done at least three weeks before your event so that you are not left with a style that doesn’t work for you. Schedule your manicure and pedicure 2 days before the event. Kim recommends a “gel manicure” which lasts for up to 2 weeks.
Body exfoliation 2-3 times a week leading up to your event will keep your skin smooth and allow for even application of self-tanning products if you feel that a bronze glow is in order.
Now you can relax and have a great time! –Dr. Gwyn and Kim
